The MBM Program
Under the MBM Program it is not just the future managers who are groomed, instead we prepare professionals with social responsibility and an inherent sense of business ethics.
The Masters in Business Management is a two-year full time post-graduate program culminating with the student obtaining a Post Graduate degree in Business Management awarded by the University of Calcutta. The present intake of the department for this program is thirty three students.
The Ph.D. Program
The Doctor of Philosophy program in Business Management is designed to enable the students to acquire the advanced skill and in-depth knowledge necessary to conduct fundamental as well as applied (empirical) management research. On successful completion of the program, students are awarded Ph.D. / D. Litt. Degree from the University.
Environment Management Research Program
Under the Special Assistance Scheme of the University Grants Commission, our department earned the distinction of introducing in 1994, a Department Research Support Program in Environment Management. Under this program a number of research projects have already been undertaken to study various environmental issues and recommend policy alternatives.
Periodic seminars are organized under the program to provide an interactive platform for all concerned and also to update existing knowledge in this field. We firmly believe that such forums have proved immensely beneficial for business and industry in understanding sensitive environmental issues and formulating their policy mix in accordance.
Faculty Refresher Program
Known as the Refresher Course for undergraduate college teachers, organised under a recently introduced scheme of UGC, under the auspices of the Academic Staff College of the University. This course is very useful and important to the college teachers for refurbishing and updating their knowledge base in order to enrich their teaching inputs. Since the introduction of the course by the UGC, the Department has already offered
five such courses.
Seminars and Symposiums
The Department organises from time to time, seminars and symposiums on current and related topics. Different organistaions collaborate to organise these in a proper way.
