Libraries

The Central Library of the University is a veritable beehive for management students containing multiple copies of text and reference books in all functional areas of Management. The Department Library has exclusive reading rooms for teachers/scholars and students, offering reference books available on a wide range of subjects, including encyclopaedia, dictionaries, gazetteers, Govt. Publications, World bank publications, etc. Newspapers and periodical collections of the library covers various current affairs and a wide range of specialized subjects.

Students have access to about 40,000 books and over 300 journals in the library both Indian and foreign. The number of subscribed newspapers is about 20. The stock and services of the library are aimed at catering to the needs of postgraduate students, researchers, public and private sector managers, professional groups and academics.

Facilities are available to the students for having photocopies of relevant portions of books and journals, subject to copyright restrictions.

Computer Set-Up

The Department has two sophisticated Computer Rooms with a number of Servers & PCs with multi-terminal facilities and a number of Management Systems Packages.

The department is equipped with LAN setup (Windows NT and Novell Intranetware). The Department's Computer Set-up offers a range of Programming Environments (MS Visual Studio, RDBMS, C & C++ compilers etc.) The LAN set-up provides adequate exposure to networking.

The Computer Centre also offers several Statistical Packages, CASE tools and Project Management Software, E-Commerce packages relevant for Management study and for undertaking research study and also Multimedia facilities, keeping in touch with the latest demands of the industry.

The Computer Centre conducts hands-on practical sessions for students of all current courses. The Centre also conducts management development programs on computer applications, maintaining an exhaustive data-base of functional areas of the department, which is extremely useful to the department's faculty and the students. The department has inducted E-Commerce as part of its course curriculum and is being considered as a Nodal Centre for diffusion of E-Commerce education at University level.

Teaching Aids

The Department is equipped with audio-visual facilities for the reproduction of teaching material and other outputs of the department. Conceived as an interactive symbiotic process, teaching in the course is conducted primarily on lecture-discussion basis, supplemented by regular case analysis, workshops, field studies and independent project works. The Department has provisions for audio-visual aids and other equipment's like overhead projectors, slide projectors, video recorders, tape recorders, film projectors and computers for use by faculty and students.
